pinched forms - alternatively fired
One of my favorite things to make from clay are simple pinched forms. Working a single ball of clay into a finished pot is deeply satisfying and the pot will forever fit and feel wonderful in my hands. Sometimes I join 2 pinch pots to make a closed form that then gets paddled into another shape altogether. I will frequently fire these pots using low-fire, naked (no glaze) techniques - such as pit, obvara, naked raku and saggar firing - after which I may adorn with thread, beading, woven vines, and other found objects.
